This is the best BBQ in Oakland, 'nuff said. Fruitvale location is supposed to be better than Jack London Square location... Then on to Parkway for "Return of the Living Dead" (1985) on the 30th!!

Hey man, good luck to your GI track. Jane took me to "the counter" which has gourmet burgers. Kinda like Pluto's, style ordering and will cook a true "rare" burger.

Also when you detox, try this cafe in SF call "Lettus" http://www.lettusorganic.com/index.htm They have an awesome "Wasabi burger" made of organic grains, beets, etc. See you on Halloween!

I'm a fan of Kirk's. And paragon's burger is pretty damn amazing too. We should really go for some cuban food, maybe Habana Cuba on Race. Also try some ethiopian food. As I recall, it was pretty damn amazing. And you must try the al pastor at Tlaquepaque. That's all for now.

I'll second the Counter suggestion from Kyle. A great place. There's one in Santa Monica I like to visit. Go visit the one either in Menlo Park or Santana Row. Deeeelish.

When you are down here, we are going to visit Pink's. You will have a bacon burrito dog. It will be about a half an hour wait, but well worth it. If you're gonna be a carnivore for one month out of your life, this is the place to be one.

I'm sure I'll have more suggestions for you soon.

Any well-reputed tacqueria, and you must try a carnitas burrito (shredded pork), a chili verde burrito, and a lengua burrito. I recommend Tacos Moreno on Water Street in Santa Cruz for the first two, though you may have to search a bit more widely for lengua.

I hope you can maintain your youthful figure...
